As the only clearing house for mass payments in Sweden, Bankgirot has a central role in the Swedish payments infrastructure and processes the great majority of these types of payments. Every hour more than 125,000 transactions flow between payers and payees, and we ensure that every krona ends up in the right place. This means that of each day's transactions 99.9 percent are delivered on time and 99.9 percent are delivered to the right account.
Bankgirot's operations were founded in 1959 and today the company employs about 240 people. Bankgirot is owned by SEB, Swedbank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, Danske Bank, Skandiabanken and Länsförsäkringar Bank.
The CEO of Bankgirot is Birgitta Simonsson.
